Gloucester City Library

Computer Services
The library has Windows XP, Windows
7 and iMac Mountain Lion computers for public use. To use a computer, please ask at the Circulation
Desk. There is no specific time limit on computer use but a first-on
first-off policy applies during extremely busy periods. Non-members may
use our computers as Visitors for limited periods of time, depending on
availability. Non-members are asked to join the library if they will be
using the computers on a regular basis.
If you will be listening to
audio, you must use earphones.
Earbuds
are available for purchase at the library for $1.99. Headsets suitable for
use with Skype and other video chat programs may be borrowed without
charge at the Circulation Desk, or purchased for $10.
Printing is available from
most computers at 15 cents per page for black and white, and $1 per page
for color. Flash drives are
available for purchase at the library for $5.99. Our Windows XP computers have
floppy disk drives, and you may purchase a disk at the library for $1.
However, people have experienced problems trying to open files that were
previously saved on floppy disks, so we discourage their use.
CD-R disks are available at
the library for $1 and CD-RW disks are available for $2.
See our Wireless
page to find out how to connect your laptop to our wireless internet
network.
We now offer a mobile
website, including catalog.
The library offers a
rotating series of computer training sessions. Classes designed around our
newer computers are in the works. Schedules will be available in the Gloucester City News, on the bulletin board in the
library entrance, and on our What's
New At the Library page.
