Computer Services

The library has Windows XP, Windows 7 and iMac Mountain Lion computers for public use. To use a computer for the first time, you will be required to own a library card and create a four digit pin that you can remember at the Circulation Desk. After creating a four digit pin, you will no longer need to go to the Circulation Desk to use a computer, unless you do not own a library card and you want to request a guest pass. The only other time you may need to go to the Circulation Desk is if you may have forgotten your password, checking out a book, or renting a headset.

Guest Passes

In the event that you are only visiting for one time, our library offers a one time use guest pass which will allow you to sign onto the computer without needing a library card. Please keep in mind that if you use a guest pass, you will not be able to checkout a headset, or books. Guest passes are specifically for one time computer use only for non-library card holders. In the event that you are going to be using a library computer on a regular bases, we ask that you become a Gloucester City Library card holder.

Express Computers

Please know that the Library has two "Express Computers". These computers are in the library, and will say on the screen ADULT DELL 25, and ADULT DELL 26. These computers only have 15 minute sessions whenever you sign on. If you know you are going to be on the computer for a long period of time, we ask that you refrain from using these two Express Computers unless we are out of availble computers, in that special instance we can extend your time limit on that computer to match the regular time the other library computers recieves.

Audio Policy

If you will be listening to audio, you must use earphones.

Earbuds are available for purchase at the library for $1.99. Headsets suitable for use with Skype and other video chat programs may be borrowed without charge at the Circulation Desk, or purchased for $10.  Please keep in mind that if you are using a guest pass in order to use the library computers, you CAN NOT checkout a pair of headphones.

Printing is available from most computers at 15 cents per page for black and white, and $1 per page for color.
