Courier-Post


Current news stories are available at courierpostonline.com. You can search for articles back to 1999 on their archives page. There are fees to access the full-text articles in the archives. Obituaries are available online in conjuction with Legacy.com, and go back to 2007.


You may also access the Courier Post back to 1999 at the Camden County Library, using the Proquest database. If you have a Camden County Library membership card, you may also access Proquest from outside the library.


Rutgers' Robeson Library in Camden has the Courier-Post on microfilm back to 1909. The Camden County Historical Society has the Courier-Post on microfilm from 1892 to 1959, in addition to other Camden County area newspapers. The Camden County Library, Voorhees, has the Courier Post on microfilm from 1876-1889, 1923-1931, and 1946-present.

      Philadelphia Inquirer


      Philadelphia Inquirer articles from ther past seven days are available free at Philly.com. You can search Philly.com for articles as far back as 1981, but you must pay to access the actuall full-text articles. Obituaries are kept online for one year and are free to access.


      The Newspaper Source Plus database on EbscoHost includes the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News as far back as 1997. (If you are using EbscoHost from a computer outside the library building, you will need to enter your library card number.) Scroll down to the bottom of the EbscoHost page and check the box next to Newspaper Source Plus to chose that database. Then use Advanced Search, and include the desired newspaper name in a search box for Journal Name.


      News Library includes the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1981. Searching is free, but there is a cost to access the full-text articles. Once registered, you may save searches, your search history and articles are all in one place.


      The public may access full-text articles (no images) without charge at Rutgers' Robeson Library in Camden and Camden County Library in Voorhees back to 1981 through the Newsbank database.


      Camden County Library also has the paper on microfilm back to 1973, with paper indexes for 1979 and 1980.


      The Free Library of Philadelphia has the Philadelphia Inquirer back to 1860 on microfilm, and indexes are available for some years.
